Overview

This intimate meeting room is located in the “Boerderij” (farmhouse) in the courtyard. The room is named after the founder of the Union of Utrecht: Jan van Nassau, younger brother of William of Orange and progenitor of today’s House of Orange. The Union of Utrecht was signed and sealed on 23 January 1579 by several Dutch provinces, affirming, among other things, their common commitment to booting the Spanish from Dutch territory.
